Ravenloft

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.

Torin's Journey Begins
A new adventurer approaches

Torin has been sent on his second mission via Captain Jacques on his ship The Wandering Widow . He is to find two adventurers in the land of Lamordia who the Oracle of Geminore has determined will be vital to heading off potential catastrophe. He wonders to himself what these strangers will be like and what adventures lay before him in their company.

After an uneventful 2 months at sea a storm rises suddenly. The hairs on the back of Torin’s neck stand up with static energy. He suspiciously takes a post at the front of the ship to keep an eye out for trouble. Moments later he finds it. A large lightning elemental comes sweeping up from behind the ship and attacks the Captain! Torin runs nearby and fires his revolvers into the crazed beast to little effect. Realizing there was no hope of winning the encounter he ask Captain Jacques if he can do anything to escape the flying beast.

“It’s risky, but I think I know just what you’re asking for,” says Jacques.

“Do it!” Torin yells.

With that Jacques pulls a small gem out of his pocket and crushes it. Suddenly the wind direction changes and instead of sailing against the wind they are sailing with it, the elemental has no hope of keeping up. They are safe for now….

Quite some time later the storm has settled a tiny bit when the crew notice a life raft floating towards the ship. It carries 2 unconscious people and a man wearing monks robes. After stabilizing the wounded men the monk, who identifies himself as Jiang, implores Torin to burn the raft. They claim to be escapees from another ship where they were held prisoner.

With the Captains permission Torin swims to the raft, searches it for clues, then burns it. Less than an hour later a navy ship pulls up along side The Wandering Widow and demands permission to board so that they may check our papers. Torin hides behind the mast while the captain questions the survivors. Their conversation is soon cut short as the ship the survivors escaped quickly approaches. The captain of the ship, whose flag bears an anchor and seagull, claps his hands and suddenly walks on air before jumping to Jacques ship.

He looks at the Navy Captain “You’ll pay for what you did to us,” and attacks.
A small gnome on the pirate ship stands forward “We Don’t have to do this!”
“You made an oath, kill him” The captain says and with that the gnomes ally steps forward and stabs him downward through the neck, spearing his heart.

With a burst of magic the gnome turns into a small doll and energy flows through all the pirates as they subtly mutate.

After gravely wounding the captain Jiang and Torin are able to rout the stranger (later identified as Rob Lucci). As the pirates flee the doll is tossed aboard our ship and the pirates send out of volley of attacks towards the Navy Captain. Too late for the pirates, Torin pulled the captain to safety and used his body to absorb the brunt of the attacks saving his life. He was rewarded with official passage into Lamordia.

He allows the doll, whose name is Fukoro to join him in a quest for redemption as he showed honor and bravery in standing up to his berserk Captain.

On the second day through the straight a school of Dragon Fish swim by. Recognizing them as a delicacy Torin fishes up 8 of them. He harvests their spines for poison and their meat for a feast. The druidic survivor doesn’t seem pleased but appreciates the fact that Torin wastes none of the animal.

Later in the day a large pack of mephits attack. Torin calls out to them in Aquan and convinces them to stand down as he is on a mission vital to the plane of water (whether true or not). They believe him and allow the ship passage.

With that he arrives in Lamordia.

The Party Forms
An young friendship

Torins meets Nzumbe and Darthana in the Limping Bugbear Inn after renting a room and approaching them with food and drink. Torin eventually reveals his true purpose for approaching them after being caught in a lie. Nzumbe and Darthana appreciate his honesty and agree to allow him to join them. To pay back his debt to the shopkeeper Tass, Torin searches for Tass’s missing crate which is found conveniently in the middle of town. Tass is disappointed to find his cargo damaged but is understanding since his cargo did attack the party.

The party then travels to meet Baron Wurttenburg who grants land to the party and tells them of a bounty on Azerene Darkwood who spread rumors of him to the King. He claims it is the greatest bounty in the history of Lamordia.

The party meets Tenzekil and speaks about Crescent Eyes with them. He gives them an area that it might be located. The party travels to Dresden’s last stand where the feather may be located.

While at Dresden’s last stand the party finds a token (bird icon) and is attacked by goblins. Nzumbe and Darthana think they see some strange creature fighting with Torin on the far side of the bridge but they don’t get a good look. What was that?

In the end there is a pile of goblin corpses and a party of richer more experienced adventurers.

A Compulsion Strikes
and Torin must quest alone

As the party finishes searching the goblins and the captured goblin priest is shackled a strange look crosses Torin’s face, as though he is looking into forever. He seems distant for several minutes before his eyes refocus and he smiles.

“Friends, you’ll have to excuse me but there is something I must attend to. I’ll see you back in Stutgart?”

With that he starts wandering north with the captured goblin in tow. As he travels through the marshlands he comes across an area with many tracks going around the quicksand pools that speckle this landscape. It’s raining and getting cold and he hopes to find a camp for the night. Just as he’s about to give up and camp in the underbrush he spots a fallen tree in the distance. Excited to have shelter he scouts the immediate area and what does he find in the tree but a chest marked with runes in what appears to be blood.

“Those appear to be arcane, I’d be careful if I were you,” Fukoro chimes in.
“It’s light enough to carry, I suspect if I bring this to Nzumbe she will be able to open this safer than I can.” Torin responds

Having stowed his prize he sets up his bedroll to sleep, Fukoro taking watch as he mentions he needs not sleep nor eat.

A few hours into his rest Torin is awoken by Fukoro pushing against him with little doll hands.

“I hear something”

Torin wakes and hides himself better within the log. He can hear it now too….a buzzing. It’s coming closer and quickly. Soon 2 giant wasps fly overhead. Oddly, they have harnesses and collar on.

With the threat past Torin goes back to sleep

Upon awaking Torin has an uneventful trip to Margrave Outpost in much better weather. When he arrives he finds that there are Navy personnel on watch. He slips past their outer guards and discovers a couple of people talking inside.

One man is yelling angrily at the other, pounding his fist on the table

“It’s been months! I’ve had you searching up and down Eckhart province for the source of the goblin attacks. You’ve found NOTHING. If we don’t earn some funding soon this outpost is done for.”

While the man is speaking Torin creeps up beside the Captain and as he is about to punctuate another sentence with his fist Torin throws the unconscious goblin priest onto the table.

“Do you gentlemen need some help?” Torin ask with a smirk.

Completely taken aback, the captain demands to know where Torin came from and who he is. Afterwards the Lieutenant calls out,

“Ensign, How did this man get past your watch? 5 laps around the outpost!”
The ensign groans, “Yessir”
“Perhaps you should be asking yourself how I snuck into the very room you were in Lieutenant?” Torin asks and grins at the captain, who has introduced himself as Jim.
“Maybe you should lead by example Lieutenant, I think me and our new friend here have business to discuss.”

A short while later the goblin has been interrogated and sent on his way to the prison and captain Jim has paid an advance of six thousand gold and the promise of a favor should Torin explore cinder springs, following a lead that the goblin had given. Torin agrees, and after a fine meal, makes his way south.

Cindersprings ended up being relatively uneventful, and after harvesting some seeds and scouting the area Torin makes his way back to Stutgart to meet back up with his new friends.
